During an entertaining jousting tournament, a mysterious villain attacks the capital with his army. Because of this disastrous event, Stephen Brightflame, a nineteen-year-old who aspires to become a knight, embarks on a quest to save the kingdom from further destruction. He joins up with a convicted felon, an arrogant warrior, and a Halfling woman, but quickly learns their pasts are just as dark and disturbing as his own. Experience the first book in an epic fantasy trilogy thats been called, fascinating and captivating” featuring well-rounded, enjoyable characters, intense action scenes, and riveting twists” (The US Review of Books and Self-Publishing Review).

There lived two gods. One of darkness; the other of light. They were complete opposites, but each desired to build a world and fill it with their creations.

The world of Element, filled with beings infused with different elemental abilities, is a diverse one. With the creators being of opposite natures, Alazar created creatures of light–humans, elves, dwarves, etc. Zebulon tried to create something similar but only succeeded in birthing the monstrous, ogres, skeletons (zombies), and more. This nature of “good vs evil” permeates the entire story and is depicted in several prominent ways.

Many years passed since darkness was quelled. When an attack happens during a jousting tournament in Celestial, the citizens are caught completely off-guard. Celestial doesn’t stand a chance in the onslaught. Man and beast are slain, including human King Zoran. Despite the efforts of many brave warriors like Stephen Brightflame and Tyrus Canard, Celestial, and the light, falls

With the death of the king, his traitorous son takes his stead and hands Celestial over to the Hooded Phantom and his treacherous dragon Nightstrike. Prince Silvanus fittingly earns the title of the “Shadow Prince” because of his betrayal. Stephen stands up to the Prince, but earns himself the sentence of hanging for doing so, and nearly meets his end. He manages to escape with the help of his friends.

Setting out on a journey to help save the kingdom that is being destroyed, Stephen,Tyrus, Kari, and many others play important roles to fight against the forces of evil. Fast-paced, full of action and battle, [book:The Story of Evil] possesses all the elements of epic fantasy, without the crudeness and promiscuity featured in so many books of this genre.

Full of life lessons, quotable narrative, and a vast variety of characters, [book:The Story of Evil] will easily be relatable for readers. Those that love fast-paced, action-packed novels will easily fall into this sequence of events, told by various characters in past and present delineations. Because of the story’s layout, it definitely takes some concentration to keep up with these shifts between scenes. I personally, like a somewhat slower-paced adventure that allows me to sink into the setting and get to know the characters personally. The quest is the main focus, which is, without a doubt, well thought out.

”As long as there is darkness, there will be light to fight it.”
