Incendiary (Hollow Crown, #1)Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

I’m excited to be a part of the INCENDIARY blog tour with The Fantastic Flying Book Club from April 28th – May 4th, 2020!

I received an ARC of this book from Disney Hyperion via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! In no way does this affect my rating or review.

DNFing at 20%

Despite my efforts to give this Young Adult fantasy a shot, Incendiary failed to gain my interest. While there were some unique ideas and aspects interwoven into the story, romance took over shortly into the pages. I get that many YA readers approve of, and desire a romance. To be honest, I’m okay with them also. I don’t need one in every single book.

More and more I find that this genre is blending one book into the next, with extraordinary characters but nothing to distinguish them by. While there are some cool concepts here, I already was discouraged by the lack of overall building and visual stimulus. I think many people will enjoy this story. I for one, have read too many like it already.
