Down the TBR Hole #3

Down the TBR Hole #3

Let's see if I can knock a few more off the Good Ole TBR...

This challenge/meme was started by Lost In A Story back in 2016. Here are the rules, in case you are interested in participating too!

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Decide: keep it or should it go?

I’ll be going through 5 books each week.

The Books

Bellman & Black by Diane Setterfield

I read Setterfield's The Thirteenth Tale back in 2016. While I wasn't so taken with that book, I loved Setterfield's writing style, and want to give her another shot. This one is a KEEP.

The Giver by Lois Lowry

I feel like this one I have to KEEP.

Chronicles of Avonlea by L.M. Montgomery

While I am genuinely curious about this since it's a classic, it is the start of a series. So, it's a GO.

Keeper Of The Books by Asher Elliot

This one is going to GO. While I tend to like Westerns with a fantasy twist, this one sounds similar to other books I've already read in the same genre.

The Bookman's Tale by Charlie Lovett

I own this book and feel like I must give it a shot. This is a KEEP.

This has been my best week so far! I got rid of 2/5!
What are your thoughts on my choices?
Are there any books that you'd keep or get rid of on this list?

I am the author behind Foals, Fiction & Filigree. An all-encompassing blog about horses, books, and my art.

    1. I really liked Diane Setterfield’s writing style. It was very reminiscent of the gothic “horrors” that I like so much (for whatever reason because I typically steer clear of horror-anything!) Have you read any other works by her that you thought were better than The Thirteenth Tale?
